Many craftworks made in Taito City are the tradition which has rooted in this area since the Edo Period. A wide variety of craftworks, including scissors, cutting instrument, cabinet, paulownia chest of drawers, silverware, tinware, metal carving, cut glassware, household Buddhist altar, ornament (tortoiseshell and ivory), embroidery, interlace, bamboo craft and reed screen, have been created.

We visited craftsmen's studios and watched the making processes. We were enchanted by their traditional, delicate hand skills. The intricate processes and exact, disciplined hand movements are the perfection of the traditional craft.
