Rocks representing the five Confucian precepts benevolence, justice, propriety, wisdom and fidelity are placed in the Goten-no Suitei water-garden. The teahouse-style, Japanese building facing the garden has a Western-style drawing room, where guests from overseas were entertained, and Japanese-style tearoom and Asakura's room, creating a harmonious atmosphere in which Japanese and Western elements coexist. In the garden, a red-flowered crape myrtle is planted among white-flowered plants.
It seems like a red paint is just put on a white canvas. Alternatively, Asakura might try to express the whiteness of marble or plaster which is used for creating sculptures.
